Atlanta’s beloved icon, Frank Ski, hosted a memorable event on Sunday, May 5th, 2024. The 20th Annual Frank Ski Celebrity Wine Tasting and Live Auction once again proved to be one of Atlanta’s premier fundraising events, featuring an evening filled with entertainment, live and silent auctions, philanthropy, and exclusive tastings of rare wines. The event exuded a spirit of generosity and camaraderie, all in support of The Frank Ski Kids Foundation.
For Frank Ski, this annual fundraiser is more than a glamorous soirée; it represents a legacy of giving back. Over the past twenty years, The Frank Ski Kids Foundation has offered life-changing opportunities to youth worldwide, from art classes in Italy to environmental studies in the Amazon Rainforest and The Galápagos Islands.
In 2024, thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors, students will embark on an unforgettable nine-day journey (from June 17-26th) to study the effects of climate change on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. This trip will provide them with firsthand knowledge and inspiration to become stewards of our planet.
Each year, The Frank Ski Kids Foundation sends ten deserving young scientists on enlightening expeditions to remote locations around the globe. The annual fundraiser is a chance to mingle with celebrities, enjoy exquisite wines and delicious bites, all while supporting the foundation’s mission to empower young minds through transformative experiences.
Upon entering Factory Atlanta, guests walked the green carpet and were greeted by video imagery of past Planet Green Science Expeditions projected on the 30-foot white walls of the ballroom. This immersive experience transported attendees to the exotic yet vulnerable locations explored by The Frank Ski Kids Foundation.
With music from Frank Ski’s latest release, “Climate Change,” playing softly in the background, glasses and auction paddles were raised high. Notable attendees included Jay “Jeezy” Jenkins, former Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell, Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock, and over two hundred friends, supporters, and corporate sponsors of the foundation. They gathered to celebrate two decades of the foundation’s impactful work.
The 2024 Planet Green Science Expedition would not be possible without the generous support of all the donors and sponsors who attended the event. Special thanks go to The Maloney Foundation, SJAC Food Groups, Georgia Aquarium, Greenberg Traurig, HD Supply, HBCU All-Stars, Travis L. Williams Foundation, Atlanta Peach Movers, Brooks PMP Consultants, Modern Luxury, The Atlantan, NAUD, and Agency 9. Their commitment to the cause reflects a shared dedication to empowering youth and fostering a brighter future for our environment and future generations.
