The Hot Boys — the iconic rap supergroup featuring Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Turk, and B.G. — came together for their first full reunion in over 15 years at Lil Wayne’s Lil WeezyAna Festival on Saturday in New Orleans. As a true fan, I couldn’t miss it. This was the soundtrack of our era. The Cash Money, Hot Boys, Big Tymers, and No Limit movements captured the essence of what we were living back then. Seeing them on stage together last night was incredible; the only thing missing was a helicopter entrance!
But the night wasn’t just about the music. Lil Wayne received special honors from the city he’s put on the map in so many ways. New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell presented him with the key to the city, and Master P, the city’s Entertainment Ambassador, awarded him the first fleur-de-lis star from the New Orleans Walk of Fame. It was a powerful moment, honoring not just Wayne’s contribution to music but his impact on New Orleans culture.
