Black Excellence Brunch

On Friday, February 21st, Warner Bros. Television Group, in partnership with Black Excellence Brunch, hosted an inspiring Black History Month celebration at the iconic Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.

The event brought together industry leaders, storytellers, and talent for a day of meaningful conversations, connection, and celebration of Black excellence in entertainment.

Moderated by Emmy award winning journalist, Melvin Robert, attendees were treated to engaging and thought provoking panel on Black storytelling with Writer Ashley Nicole Black (Shrinking), Showrunner and Executive Producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll (Found, All American), Director Damian Marcano (The Pitt, Emperor of Ocean Park).

Followed by a discussion on the impact of Black actors and actresses with Omar J.Dorsey (Bookie), Shanola Hampton (Found), Luke Tennie (Shrinking), and Jessica Williams (Shrinking).

The day concluded with an inspiring fireside chat featuring EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson (The Jennifer Hudson Show) and Black Excellence Brunch founder, Trell Thomas.

Ahead of her fireside chat with Black Excellence Brunch founder Trell Thomas, Jennifer Hudson was welcomed by some of her producers in attendance with a surprise “Spirit Tunnel” as featured in her show.

A true celebration of culture and creativity, the event was a testament to the power of Black storytelling and the impact of Black talent in shaping the future of entertainment.
