Rap superstar Eminem is adamant he did not mean to insult Lady Gaga in his new song, insisting the reference is “a joke” Circa SlimShady.
The hip-hop star takes aim at Gaga in his new single The Kiss, from his Bad Meets Evil side project, calling her a “male lady” in reference to the hermaphrodite rumours which Gaga was forced to deny at the start of her career.
Eminem raps, “Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/ She’s still a male lady.”
However, the rapper is adamant he did not mean the lyrics to be a slur on the star, as he is a great admirer of her work.
He tells Fuse TV, “I think Lady Gaga, as an artist you know, she’s undeniable. That was one of them things where sometimes I get a joke in my head and I kinda want to share it with the world, you know what I’m saying. So it was just one of them things… and it’s… all in fun, it’s hip-hop.”
