It was a big night in Music City, as R&B artist, K Michelle, was returning home. The Memphis native announced that she had moved to Nashville to pursue country music after years of trying to get Atlantic Records on board with a genre change. The night was hosted by BMI, which will be the exclusive performance rights licensor for K Michelle, at the historic Bluebird Cafe in the Green Hills neighborhood. A chart-topper already, K Michelle, gave the audience a taste of what she likes to call “Kountry” music and had longtime collaborators and Grammy-nominated songwriters, Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony of Louis York, on hand to celebrate the night.
