Kodak’s first show out took place last night at The Watsco Center at The University of Miami. Fans from what appeared to be as young as middle schools kids to grown ups gathered at the sold out arena to welcome Kodak home. Trading in his Broward County browns for a Orange Robin Jeans (prison like) Jump suit and some matching orange Versace flip flops Kodak hit the stage.
Now I had never seen Kodak perform live before. But from listening to the album and from what I’d been hearing about the young rapper I was looking forward to seeing him. Opening the show was local rapper Ball Greezy. Performing his hit that’s flooded the streets with the infectious Luther Vandorss laced hook Nice & Slow. As the openers performed we got a moment to catch up with rising star PnB Rock back stage who not only spoke with us about what he’s working on but how he’s handling all this new found success.
The energy in the arena was amazing as the crowd sang Kodak’s lyrics word for word. Which was great seeing as how Kodak forgot a lot of the lyrics himself. Joining Kodak Black on his welcome home show was PnB Rock and Jeezy. It was a great show despite a few missteps . Kodak is young the people love him, and his potential is limitless. With the right people guiding him and a little more rehearsal time when it comes to live shows you can expect to see this kid shutting down arena’s around the country in no time.
