Inter Miami staged an impressive comeback after conceding an early goal, securing a 3-1 win against Nashville SC on Saturday night. Messi showcased his brilliance, notching his sixth and seventh goals of the season while also providing his sixth assist.
Messi’s second goal, a well-taken penalty in the latter stages of the second half, sealed the victory for Miami. Heading into the weekend, Messi trailed five players tied for the MLS goal-scoring lead with six goals, including his teammate Luis Suarez.
Sergio Busquets also found the net for Inter Miami (5-2-3, 18 points), marking their first consecutive league wins of the season.
Although Nashville (1-3-4, seven points) grabbed an early advantage through a Miami own goal from Daniel Lovitz’s expertly placed corner kick, they suffered their second straight defeat.
