The Heartbreak Kid
If you ask a mother about the pain of child birth, they often have a hard time recollecting the pain versus joy. so much so that they usual endure the pain again, to have another child. you may forget the pain of childbirth but you DO NOT forget the pain of a broken heart-yet, like childbirth, we keep going back for more, as if we dont know better.
HEARTBREAK. and im sure most of us have experienced this .
break a leg, break an arm..sprain an ankle; you go to the doctor, you get meds and a ballpark date as to when your expected to heal and use that part of your body again. you even get ‘physical therapy‘ to recondition yourself, to retrain how you use that part of your body. but you dont get any of this with heartbreak. your heart breaks and there is no meds, no doctors, and you will never know when you will get over it. and who is going to massage your heart back to life, and train it to l-ve again?
although some of us do have our own self prescribed medication for heartbreak..the rebound. which can be sketchy, only because sometimes the side effects can be worse than the actual emotional turmoil that you are trying to cure. oh, not to mention sex is sometimes peoples physical therapy for the heart, as well.
rebounds are like the diet cokes of all relationship situations. its what people drink when they cant have the real thing. there is all this heartache and self doubt, and lonely nights after a break up, and then we turn to diet coke to fulfil us. the generic, flavorless, emptiness of a diet relationship, filled with sweet and low, that is probably worse than the real thing. and there are some people who actually FAVOR diet soda as opposed to coke classic, and these are the very rare and unique situations where that transition guy has turned into the cure for your heartbreak and not just physical therapy.
so case and point..heartbreak is real but it occurs in your mind. your actual physical heart as an organ is fine, its beating, pumping blood, functioning without even knowing the difference. so that means, you’ll live. you will get past it. time is the best and the worst thing in the world, and unfortunately is the only notable fix for your heart sick agony. and this in no way over simplifies the actual feeling of someone slowly tearing your “fictitious” heart in two-nope that will always hurt, break you down, depress you, cause you to do stupid shit possibly-but, it is always best to be off with the old l-ve before bringing in the new.
