We landed at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta at 8am and hit the ground running. Our day was jam packed with appointments and meetings, so needless to say by nightfall we could not wait to check into our reservation at the Intercontinental Hotel Buckhead. This is one of our all time favorite hotels to visit because we are always greeted by friendly staff members eager to accommodate, and the rooms are the highest degree of quality and comfort with deep soaking jacuzzi bathtubs and heavenly pillow top beds. After a great night’s sleep we awoke refreshed and re-energized and with one phone call to room service we were quickly brought a delicious breakfast in bed composed of a variety of warm muffins and danishes, hot coffee and fresh squeezed juice. After replenishing our stomachs it was time to replenish our mind and body and venture downstairs to the spa.
Walking into the Spa Intercontinental Wellness Spa you can immediately feel their peaceful and tranquil ambiance. The spa offers a wide variety of different treatments, but this time we came to enjoy the therapeutic couples massage. We were welcomed with a warm greeting and given refreshing tea and citrus water to enjoy while we chose our preferred massage style and specifications. For me I desired a hard deep tissue massage with sensual zen oils, and for him a soft massage with sensual aromas for relaxation. When it was time to begin our experience we were escorted back to the locker rooms where we happily left our hectic busy schedules and problems behind, as we wrapped ourselves in the warm cotton robes ready for our therapeutic couples massage. We were escorted to a room set up for two with a delicate and romantic ambiance. We delightfully disrobed and climbed onto the massage tables eager to relax and unwind.
The Intercontinental Spa provided an amazing experience and unbelievable massage which was just what we were looking for. The calming voice and soft whispers of Jimmy and Mary our massage therapists allowed us to escape reality for an hour and truly enjoy the relaxation and pampering. I rarely have time to just sit and unwind, but found clearing my mind for an hour was so easy during the massage thanks to Jimmy’s magical hands. The entire experience form start to finish was amazing, and knowing my partner was experiencing the same relaxation and enjoyment right next to me made it even more pleasurable! We finished the massage and were rewarded with some champagne to softly welcome us back to reality. At the end the spa offered top of the line oils, lotions, and salts they use for purchase.
