After a hugely publicized”Free Carter”campaign with results favoring Lil Wayne, it seems the best way to celebrate along with the release of the highly anticipated CARTER V, would be a free concert tour, thanks to TIDAL, amply titled I Ain’t Sh#t Without You Fan Appreciation Tour.The second stop of four brought Lil Wayne to Atlanta’s Buckhead Theatre. A redux if sorts of you’re familiar with his final headlining night at A3C,that was abruptly cut short.
Anticipation was at an all time high as lines started to form as early as 1 o’clock for the 7:30 opening.Entering the stage to screaming crowd,performing hits old to new from Go DJ up to newly released Carter V,including Don’t Cry which he took a moment to honor XXXtentacion. With an engaged crowd including his children,he continuously showed his appreciation to his fans,then to his female audience to which he proceeded to perform their favorites from Lollipop to Mrs Officer. Closing to a bulk of Carter V tracks,Dedicate,Let It Fly,Mona Lisa and lastly Uproar. “I’ve been waiting to perform at a more intimate venue”he told the Atlanta crowd as he exited the stage,to the applause of a theater full of satisfied Lil Wayne fans.Next stop Washington DC then finally Chicago.
