Who is Goons United by the New School [G.U.N.S]

Pebo Florida, Jay Balla, Young A.C. and T-Stunna make up the South Florida quartet Goons United by the
New School known to their fans simply as G.U.N.S; the young group of Southern rappers isn’t afraid to
fire up a round of controversy recently setting the Internet a blaze with the release of ‘Stripes (Obama Got
Osam)’. “We were caught up in the emotions that the news Osama Bin Laden was dead brought on”; shares
Young A.C., “a lot of people think the hood doesn’t pay attention to things like war and politics, but we
do and the hook was the product of late nights in the studio, breaking news and the reaction that came with
it; ‘Obama got Osama’.

With a name like G.U.N.S its easy to try and put these four in a box without so much as a second
glance; “but it’s an acronym we’re deeper than that you feel me?” states T-Stunna “we’re four young dudes
from the ghetto, never had much all our hoods beefing but the music brought us all together;” different age
of gangster, new school of rap music and four different rappers united by the love of it.

Taking aim at the stereotype that every young Southern rapper is only good for a new dance craze, these
four are living up to comparisons of their predecessors the Hot Boys. There is nothing ‘stanky’ about their
rhymes and their lyrics won’t teach you how to get down on the dance floor, nevertheless their youthful
swag and catchy hooks is earning the foursome a strong buzz in Florida.

“You can’t spell G.U.N.S.hine without G.U.N.S” exclaims Jay Balla, referring to the resemblance of the
state of Florida and a hand gun; “we started off trying to put on for our city now we’re putting on for the
whole state.”

“We’re trying to take it back to when lyrics were respected” boast Pebo Florida, “the hook has always been
important ‘the block is hot ha ha, bling bling; those are street anthem hooks. But, the verses weren’t weak
either.” In this day in age the hook is an essential part of the formula to a hit song something Goons United
by the New School isn’t lacking.

With the constant evolution of Hip-Hop their distinct South Florida rhyming style paired with their hard
hitting delivery makes their latest mixtape ‘iPod Musik” hosted by Grand Hustle/Apphilliates DJ, DJ
Drama one you definitely don’t want to miss.
