One of hip hop’s hottest marriages, Waka Flocka Flame and wife, Tammy Rivera-Malphurs star in their very own reality series, “Waka and Tammy: What the Flocka,” premiering tonight at 10 p.m. on WEtv.The dynamic duo are no strangers to the silver screen, first appearing together on VH1’s, “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta,” followed by the more recent WEtv series, “Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition,”an in-part chronicle of the couple’s path towards reconciliation following numerous rumors of infidelity against rapper Waka Flaocka Flame. Love and everyday annoyances make “Waka and Tammy” relatable. Despite rumors, Waka appears as a kind-hearted family man, which can sometimes be just the trigger, raising levels of frustration in a partner with high demands, and a whole lotta’ sass. In “Waka and Tammy,” the couple juggles their move between homes, parenting, and stardom, alongside Tammy’s bustling music career and with the, sometimes not-so-requested, outer input from meddling family and friends. Check out what they had to say when we sat down with them.
Waka shared what he says is ‘key’ to success in his marriage. Developed through practice something he says he has learned to stay true to, even through Tammy’s “anger issues,” self-proclaimed by Tammy herself. “You’ve got to hear (your partner) out, you’ve got to listen to them” Waka continues. Seemingly Simple, but something he says took time to learn, develop, and harness, adding that his marriage is dependent upon the skill.
The show will feature an ensemble cast, with appearances from friends and family, and many who have appeared or starred in other reality shows, such as: “Growing Up Hip Hop,” “Love and Hip Hop,” and “Real Housewives of Atlanta”. “Waka and Tammy: What the Flocka,” premiers tonight, 10 p.m. on WEtv.
