This past Sunday, August 3rd, 2 Chainz’s TRU Foundation had its Back to School giveaway, in partnership with the Atlanta Entertainment Basketball League. Celebrity attendees included Dwight Howard, Jacob Lattimore, Issa Thompson, Shanell (YMCMB), DJ E Sudd and Cap 1.

2 Chainz’s TRU Foundation Hosts Back To School Giveaway In Atlanta
Over 200 children attended the event in Central Park in Atlanta, whichspecifically targeted school-aged children in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward Community. In addition to games and other activities, TRU Foundation gave away 200 backpacks filled with school supplies, as well as additional school materials.
TRU Foundation partnered with Serenity Salon and Barber, Simply Straight Salon, Klips Barbershop, and stylist Tye Atkinson to give free haircuts for boys and hairstyles for girls. Free haircare products provided by Taliah Waajid and Simply Straight were also given out to attending children.

The T.R.U. Foundation is an Atlanta-based non-profit organization geared towards fighting against poverty, dismal education, and domestic violence. Founded by 2 Chainz and Nakesha Ward in March, 2013, The T.R.U. Foundation is geared to assist those in need, specifically in areas such aseducation, money management, and job readiness. The organization also provides resources such as shelter placement, relationship counseling and scholarship programs.
