NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville SC has already claimed the Supporters’ Shield, but
its final two regular-season games still carry an opportunity to make MLS history.

A 0-0 draw with the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night at Geodis Park left Nashville
with 71 points and several league records within reach.

Nashville (21-7-4) needs three points to match the single-season points record set
by Inter Miami in 2024 and four to surpass it. The club also has tied the league
mark with 14 home victories and has one home match remaining.

Goalkeeper Brian Schwake moved closer to an individual milestone, recording his
15th shutout of the season. He needs one more to equal the single-season record
Tony Meola established with the Kansas City Wizards in 2000.

Schwake preserved the shutout in the 71st minute, diving to his right and using
his left foot to deny Philadelphia’s Ben Bender. The Union finished the night at
13-7-12 with 47 points.

Coach B.J. Callaghan praised Nashville’s effort following an emotional stretch that
included clinching the Supporters’ Shield in Montreal on Oct. 24. Four days after
that celebration, the team returned home and kept Philadelphia scoreless.

Callaghan said he was pleased with the players’ intensity and approach, though he
saw room for improvement.

Defender Daniel Lovitz said shifting from a championship celebration back to regular-
season competition presented an unusual challenge. Securing the Shield before Decision
Day, he said, reflected the team’s sustained success while providing time to prepare
for the playoffs.

For Lovitz, the remaining opportunities extend beyond adding records to the club’s
accomplishments.

“The most important thing is that our best soccer is ahead of us and we’re not resting
on a Supporters’ Shield,” he said.

Nashville hosts the New York Red Bulls at 3:30 p.m. CDT on Nov. 1 at Geodis Park.
A victory would establish the MLS single-season home wins record and keep Nashville
in position to break the points record.

Callaghan said the team’s priority remains winning each match and maintaining its
level of play. Any records, he said, would follow from that approach.
