Megan Thee Stallion and Renée Rapp thrilled their fans with the release of the music video for “Not My Fault” today (January 5). The track, featured in the upcoming Mean Girls reboot soundtrack, showcases the duo in all-pink attire as they smash plastic mannequins, cleverly nodding to the film’s overarching theme.
Directed by Mia Barnes, the visually striking three-minute piece also includes appearances by several Mean Girls cast members. Megan’s lyrics in the song include lines like, “I mean, who wouldn’t wanna be in love with me?/ I’m a mood, boring folks gotta Pinterest/ I’m a stallion, but they approach me like Trojan/ And it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t stir up some commotion.”
The collaboration was initially unveiled by Megan on Rapp’s Instagram in December 2023, with the latter later revealing the cover art. In the comments, the singer humorously noted, “Meg told me to put my a** out, so I put my a** out.” The much-anticipated movie itself is scheduled for release next Friday, January 12.
