Larry Morrow Launches Morrow Steak in New Orleans. Aiming to Establish the Nation’s Largest Black-Owned Hospitality Group.

Larry Morrow has opened another restaurant in his hometown of New Orleans, LA. As previously reported by AFROTECH™, Morrow began his entrepreneurial journey at 22 with the launch of Larry’s Poboys & Wings, which eventually closed. Learning from his early mistakes and gaining wisdom with age, he made a comeback by opening Morrow’s in 2018.

“Learning from my experience at 22 helped me prepare for opening Morrow’s,” Morrow mentioned in an interview with “Earn Your Leisure.” “I knew I needed more reserves and was in a better mental place. I was much more mature than at 22.”

He continued, “When we opened Morrow’s, there was a line out the door and I thought, ‘Oh sh-t, we’re on to something.’”

By 2023, Morrow had opened five different restaurants and a club, recently expanding his business further with the launch of Morrow Steak. This brings him closer to his goal of making history in the hospitality industry.

“I want to be the largest Black-owned hospitality group in the country,” Morrow explained to Nola.com. “It’s already been written.”

Morrow also aims to redefine the perception of a New Orleans steakhouse.

“New Orleans is a very traditional city,” he told the outlet. “When I travel to places like Miami, L.A., and New York, there’s a different energy that I want to bring here.”

Guests at Morrow Steak can enjoy prime beef options, including a tomahawk ribeye for two and wagyu steak, as well as soy-marinated double pork chops and seafood like King salmon and broiled red snapper. The menu also features vegan options, sushi rolls, and other Asian dishes inspired by Morrow’s mother’s culture.

“Good food isn’t enough to be a success,” Morrow said, according to Nola.com. “We create experiences. It’s truly a gumbo of vibes, hospitality, and great food. I built my name and brands from hospitality, which I learned from my mother. With this place, we want you to feel like you never want to leave.”
