Coming fresh off the release of their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Imaginal Disk, Magdalena Bay performed to a sold out show Tuesday night in Phoenix Arizona. With an ethereal stage design and costume production, members Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin, played both tracks from the new album and several hits slowed and riverbed of some of their older tracks such as Killshot which they remixed to a fresh form. Supporting act Valgur opened up the show with a blend of Crystal Castles like synth pop and glossy tones with a religious overtone that set them apart from many other acts I’ve seen.
