DJ Infamous and Wife Celebrate Grand Opening of Panda Pancakes in Alpharetta
Calvin “DJ Infamous” Donald and his wife, Ashanta, marked the grand opening of their Panda Pancakes franchise at North Point Mall in Alpharetta on Saturday. The pink-and-white-themed kiosk, located on the mall’s second level, is the couple’s first joint business venture.
“The grand opening ceremony was amazing,” DJ Infamous shared. “We had foodie influencers, family, friends, and the community come out to show their support. My four children were here, and my son and daughter even work at the kiosk. It’s a family effort, and it’s great.”
Having lived in the area for 20 years, the couple wanted to give back to the community that has embraced them. “This is special because we’re bringing something unique to the area,” said DJ Infamous. “It’s more than just pancakes—it’s about creating joy and adding something meaningful here.”
Ashanta echoed the sentiment, calling the moment “truly special.” She added, “I had a tears-of-joy moment seeing everything come together and the community’s excitement.”
A standout among customers is the Sophisticated Strawberry Syrup pancakes, a fan favorite featuring fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and strawberry syrup atop fluffy pancakes. Eleven-year-old Izabella Dykes, who visited with her mother, raved about her experience.
“The pancakes were really good,” Dykes said. “I loved the banana flavor and the cake batter they used.” She also admitted to sneaking a bite of her mom’s Sophisticated Strawberry Syrup pancakes, calling them “delicious.”
The inspiration for Panda Pancakes began in 2023, DJ Infamous explained. “When you think about pancakes, you think about families, kids, and celebrations. I wanted to create something fun—dessert-style pancakes that everyone can enjoy. The slogan says it all: ‘Everybody loves pancakes.’ It took me back to my inner kid.”
While DJ Infamous is globally known for producing music and performing alongside hip-hop legend Ludacris, his latest venture demonstrates his entrepreneurial spirit. “This is just another way to connect with people,” he said.
Panda Pancakes is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., serving up a sweet twist on a breakfast classic for the Alpharetta community.
