tech professionals in the United States, debuted in Houston on Tuesday, bringing
record-breaking attendance and a sharpened focus on artificial intelligence and

NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson delivered an inspiring keynote, _“The Power
of Our Now: Taking Ownership in AI and Our Rights,”_ emphasizing the importance 
of accessibility and ownership in emerging technologies.

This year’s conference, founded by Blavity Inc. in 2016, marked its first appearance
in Houston, a city known for its diversity and burgeoning tech ecosystem. The event
featured dynamic panels, startup competitions, career fairs, and networking opportunities
aimed at advancing Black representation and innovation in technology.
