Another Prime Time Classic at the Smith Center

A national TV audience witnessed another Friday night classic at GW. This time, though, the drama didn’t swing in the Revolutionaries’ favor.

After a clutch lay in from Tyrone Marshall Jr. with :46 remaining put GW ahead 66-64, the final four points belonged to Dayton all from the free-throw line. The Flyers capitalized at the stripe, while missed opportunities late proved costly.

Rafael Castro led the way with 16 points, joined in double figures by Trey Autry (15), Jean Aranguren (12) and Marshall (12). Javon Bennett paced all scorers with 25 to secure the road win for the Flyers.

Friday’s early tip gives GW extra time to prepare for Senior Night against St. Bonaventure. The regular season home finale tips at 7 p.m. Wednesday on ESPN+ and Monumental Sports Network.
