ASU Rebounds and Handles Texas State 34-15

Arizona State checked off several key boxes ahead of conference play with a 34-15 win over Texas State on Saturday at Mountain America Stadium. Chief among them was a bounce-back performance from quarterback Sam Leavitt, who completed 15 of 25 passes (60%) after a rough outing at Mississippi State. He avoided turnovers for the first time this season while adding impact plays with his legs.

The Sun Devils’ ground game once again set the tone, eclipsing 200 rushing yards for the third straight week. Raleek Brown led the charge with 144 yards on just 12 carries, including a 75-yard touchdown burst. Defensively, ASU turned in its strongest effort of the year with five sacks, 10 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles, holding the Bobcats to just nine points before reserves allowed a late score.

Head coach Kenny Dillingham praised the execution and effort, noting steady improvement on third down and the offense’s ability to sustain drives. With Leavitt regaining confidence and the rushing attack in rhythm, ASU appears to be finding its identity as conference play looms.
