‘Black Widow’ is the backstory fans of the Marvel films needed for closure on this
phase of the franchise. Yet, some people may be left with more questions than answers.
The film after Captain America: Civil War, but before Avengers: Infinity War. During
the film, we get a glimpse at Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) early life
before she became an Avenger. We’re introduced to the only real family she had,
including her younger sister Yelena — who also becomes a secret operative. Her family
reunites 20 years later to defeat an old foe. The action-packed film gives us more
context on her background and where she comes from, but leaves plenty of questions
about Black Widow’s future in the Avengers.
