Bogotá Fashion Week 2025: Colombia’s Style Powerhouse Steps Onto the Global Stage

From May 20–22, Bogotá will once again become the epicenter of Latin American fashion as it hosts the eighth edition of Bogotá Fashion Week (BFW). Organized by the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, the event continues to strengthen its position as a major player in the regional creative economy. This year, 140 fashion brands—both Colombian and international—will gather at the Ágora Bogotá Convention Center, drawing the attention of buyers from 22 countries.

BFW 2025 promises a dynamic and multifaceted experience, featuring 27 runway shows, public talks, creative labs, and a multi-brand concept store. The highlight of the business agenda is the “Wholesale” matchmaking roundtable, designed to connect designers with global retailers through more than 1,000 pre-scheduled appointments. Prestigious buyers from Galeries Lafayette (France), Nordstrom (USA), and Kirna Zabete (USA) are among the international names expected to attend.

“The heart of the event is the business matchmaking component,” said Ovidio Claros, Executive President of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce. “We’re expecting more than 1,000 appointments between national brands and buyers from countries like South Korea, the United States, and the United Arab Emirates.”

This year’s edition will open with a high-profile show by celebrated Colombian designer Jorge Duque, who will debut Gabinete de curiosidades latinas (Cabinet of Latin Curiosities)—a bold tribute to Colombia’s diverse cultural and aesthetic heritage.

BFW 2025 also deepens its commitment to inclusivity and community engagement. Through the [P U E N T E] initiative, 11 entrepreneurs from Bogotá’s traditional neighborhoods of Restrepo and San Victorino—up from five last year—will present their work, showcasing the rich grassroots creativity driving the city’s fashion scene.

Beyond fashion shows, BFW presents a strong intellectual and cultural program with 24 public conversations. Topics will range from sustainability and branding to innovation in Latin American style. Featured speakers include author Amalia Andrade, journalist Mónica Fonseca, stylist Franklin Ramos, and fashion commentators Pilar Castaño and Támara González Litman.

The onsite multi-brand store will offer a curated shopping experience, where attendees can purchase pieces directly from participating designers and receive style advice from experts like Castaño and Ramos.

By merging commerce, culture, and creativity, Bogotá Fashion Week 2025 sets its sights on elevating Colombian fashion to a global platform—reinforcing Bogotá’s ambition to become the fashion capital of Latin America.
