The “Bayou Barbie” has officially arrived in Atlanta.
The Atlanta Dream introduced their newest addition, Angel Reese, on Friday as part of a strengthened core that includes recently re-signed players Allisha Gray, Brionna Jones, Jordin Canada, and Naz Hillmon.
Reese expressed her excitement about joining the organization, calling the opportunity “a dream come true” and emphasizing her appreciation for a team culture that values its players. “I’m really grateful for everything, and I’m soaking it all in,” she said.
Acquired in a trade from the Chicago Sky earlier this month, Reese has quickly emerged as one of the WNBA’s top young talents. In just two seasons, she has recorded 49 double-doubles while averaging 14.0 points and 12.8 rebounds per game.
The Dream will open their 2026 season on May 17 at State Farm Arena against the Las Vegas Aces.
