From the opening whistle at the Poliforum Benito Juárez, the Leonese team’s dominance
was clear. They executed quick transitions into the paint and maintained a solid
defense, denying their opponents any time or space to shoot. This strong performance
marked an all-around improvement, even in physical stamina, which had faltered in
previous games during the second half.

By halftime, the visitors held a 10-point lead. Early in the third quarter, A.J.
Banks hit a three-pointer, extending their advantage. However, the Heat responded
fiercely, scoring eight unanswered points and reigniting their momentum under Pepe
Pidal’s leadership, with Arinze Chidom taking control.

In the fourth quarter, Quintana Roo made one last push when Cameron Mitchell trimmed
the lead to nine points, breaking the double-digit gap. Luciano Guerra then narrowed
it to seven at the free throw line, but Torren Jones’ defensive efforts, including
13 rebounds—seven on defense—proved crucial. He finished with a double-double, contributing
16 points, the same as Musthapa Heron. The game ended with a final score of 76-68.

cuarto, A.J.
