Defending Champs Michigan defeat Fresno St 30 – 10

The Bulldogs couldn’t deliver a dazzling performance on national TV to mark first-year coach Tim Skipper’s debut with a historic win.

Fresno State did put up a decent fight for a while against defending national champion Michigan, and that alone seemed to make the Red Wave proud, judging by the majority of social media reactions.

But simply competing against the best has never been enough by Fresno State’s standards—no matter the size of the opponent or the intensity of the venue.

On Saturday, Fresno State faced one of the biggest challenges in its football program’s history: taking on the reigning champs in front of an announced crowd of 110,665 at the “Big House.”

Fresno State mounted a late-game threat but ultimately couldn’t topple the champs, as No. 9 Michigan held on for a 30-10 victory.
