What began as an intimate concept in a living room in 2020 has grown into a full-scale spectacle and this past weekend, “Pass The Mic Live” took over the iconic Kia Forum during NBA All-Star Weekend.
Inside the legendary arena a venue synonymous with the Showtime era of the Los Angeles Lakers the energy felt both nostalgic and electric. The same building that has hosted generations of sports and entertainment greatness once again became a stage for history in the making.
The Forum’s backstage tunnel walls, lined with the names of headliners past, read like a music hall of fame: Diana Ross, Led Zeppelin, Prince, Queen, Stevie Wonder, The Jackson 5, The Rolling Stones and countless others. On Saturday night, that storied history gained another unforgettable chapter.
The evening unfolded as a seamless celebration of love, nostalgia, and hip-hop and R&B excellence. Ja Rule, Ashanti, Busta Rhymes, Lil’ Kim, Fabolous, Mýa and En Vogue united as one ensemble, passing verses and harmonies in a format that felt both spontaneous and masterfully curated.
