Nashville SC kicked off its 2026 MLS campaign in emphatic style, defeating the New England Revolution 4–1 at GEODIS Park in a match the home side controlled from start to finish. Madrigal delivered a standout MLS debut, recording two assists and a goal while becoming the first player in club history to post an assist and two or more points in his league debut. Sam Surridge continued his clinical form with a brace, quickly repaying the club’s faith after signing a contract extension, and once again proving why he remains one of the league’s most dangerous finishers. Under head coach B.J. Callaghan, Nashville’s refreshed tactical setup bolstered by defensive additions Woledzi and goalkeeper Brian Schwake — allowed the Boys in Gold to play faster, break pressure efficiently, and attack with greater freedom. If opening night is any indication, Nashville looks every bit the Eastern Conference contender many predicted.
