From my seat at the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl, Fresno State showed exactly how to close out a season. With a balanced offensive approach and a defense that stayed locked in all night, the Bulldogs earned an 18–3 win over Miami (Ohio) on Saturday at Casino Del Sol Stadium.
Miami (OH) struck first with a field goal on its opening drive, but Fresno State stayed patient and methodical. Kicker Dylan Lynch delivered three field goals before halftime to give the Bulldogs a 9–3 advantage, while the defense kept the RedHawks from finding any rhythm.
The decisive moment came in the fourth quarter when quarterback E.J. Warner connected with Richie Anderson III on a short touchdown pass, extending the lead and putting the game firmly in Fresno State’s control. Lynch added another late field goal to close the scoring as the Bulldogs’ defense continued to shut down Miami’s offense.
Fresno State finished the night with strong balance on both sides of the ball. Josiah Freeman led the receiving corps with 143 yards, while the Bulldogs’ defense limited Miami to just one score and forced key turnovers. The win capped a solid 9–4 season for Fresno State, while Miami (OH) closed its year at 7–7.
Two teams, two conferences, one desert stage — and Fresno State made sure this bowl night belonged to them.
