Frustration at Home as D.C United Searches for Breakthrough

Despite a tough loss at home. D.C. United showed fight until the final whistle in a 4-2 loss to Austin FC on Saturday night.

João Peglow sparked D.C.’s attack early in the second half with a composed finish near the penalty spot, and Christian Benteke added a stoppage-time penalty to keep the pressure on late. The Black-and-Red continued to push forward, creating chances and refusing to go down quietly.

While Austin took a 2-0 lead into the break behind first-half goals from Myrto Uzuni and Owen Wolff, D.C. responded out of the locker room with urgency. Peglow’s goal in the 48th minute gave the squad new energy, and despite Austin’s counter-attack finishes, United never backed down.

Though the result marked D.C.’s fourth straight defeat and extended the current winless streak, the team’s young talent and attacking spirit remain bright spots. As the season pushes on, D.C. will look to regroup and channel their second-half fight into a strong finish down the stretch.
