Brooklyn, New York native band Geese brought their Getting Killed Tour to Phoenix. Fresh off the release of their newest album with the same title the band recently saw leaps in their popularity with the lead singer Cameron Winter’s unique vocals and lyricism. Winter at only 23 years old also recently put out a solo album that received critical acclaim with comparisons to Lou Reed and Bob Dylan. Geese represents this revival of a forgotten genre harboring to the days of Velvet Underground mixed with The Allman Brothers Band. Having seen Geese earlier in the year in Brooklyn I knew the crowd was going to be rowdy but nothing could’ve prepared me to moshpitting to songs like Taxes which at first listen don’t seem like a “moshable” song, but it works, these kids feed off of the vibes of this music in a way I’ve never felt from any band of their type. Even if you’re new to the music go to the show if you have the opportunity this band will be playing venues much much bigger in the near future.
