NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 26, 2026) — Hany Mukhtar added another milestone to his Nashville SC career Saturday night, scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Toronto FC at GEODIS Park.
The victory extended Nashville’s regular-season home winning streak to nine matches and improved the club to 13 wins in 14 MLS home matches this season.
Mukhtar opened the scoring in the 16th minute off assists from Cristian Espinoza and Elias Saad, giving Nashville a 1-0 lead.
Nashville doubled its advantage just before halftime. Mukhtar scored again in the 43rd minute after a buildup from Sam Surridge and Saad.
The brace gave Mukhtar 100 career MLS goals in regular-season and playoff competition. He became the 16th player in league history to reach the milestone and the first German-born player to do so. Mukhtar now has 13 MLS goals this season.
Goalkeeper Joe Willis made his first start of the 2026 season and recorded three saves in the shutout. It was the 79th clean sheet of his MLS career in regular-season and playoff competition. Willis also earned his 110th career MLS victory and was named Man of the Match.
Nashville improved to 18-3-6 and reached 60 points with seven regular-season matches remaining. The club became the second-fastest team in MLS history to reach 60 points, trailing only LAFC’s 2019 team.
The Boys in Gold also remained unbeaten at home in MLS play this season at 13-0-1. Saturday’s victory set club records for regular-season wins and home wins.
Espinoza recorded his league-leading 13th assist of the season on Mukhtar’s opening goal. The assist also gave him 96 in his MLS regular-season career, tying Carles Gil for the most among active players.
Saad assisted on both Nashville goals, giving him five MLS assists this season. Surridge recorded his second assist of the year.
Nashville has now avoided defeat in 19 of its last 21 MLS matches. Across all competitions this season, the club is 22-7-9.
Head coach BJ Callaghan also reached a milestone Saturday. His 37 victories through his first 70 MLS matches tied Tata Martino for the most wins by a coach over that span in league history.
Nashville will have a break during the FIFA international window before returning to action Oct. 10 at Austin FC.
