Notre Dame is heading back to the Elite Eight for the 11th time after a thrilling 67–64 win over Vanderbilt in the Sweet Sixteen.
The game was powered by an unforgettable performance from Hannah Hidalgo, who dominated every aspect of play. She recorded a historic triple-double with 31 points, 11 rebounds, 10 steals, and 7 assists—cementing her place in NCAA history. Her 10 steals also broke the single-season NCAA record, and she set a new tournament mark for total steals.
Cassandre Prosper added 15 points and came through in the clutch, scoring the go-ahead basket in the final seconds.
Notre Dame controlled much of the game early with relentless defense, forcing turnovers and building a lead. But Vanderbilt battled back, tying the game late and briefly taking the lead in the fourth quarter.
In the final moments, Hidalgo made a decisive play, finding Prosper for a layup that put the Irish ahead for good. A final defensive stand sealed the victory.
Now riding strong momentum—winning 10 of their last 11 games—Notre Dame advances to face top-seeded UConn Huskies women’s basketball with a trip to the Final Four on the line.
