Houston Dynamo FC suffered a 2-1 defeat to FC Dallas in their season-opening Texas Derby at Shell Energy Stadium tonight.
Houston struck first in the 18th minute when forward Amine Bassi found the back of the net, capitalizing on a well-placed cross from defender Griffin Dorsey that was redirected by forward Ezequiel Ponce.
FC Dallas equalized in the 55th minute as forward Petar Musa slotted the ball into the bottom right corner after gaining possession at the top of the box.
The visitors secured the win in the 76th minute when forward Anderson Julio capitalized on a quick counterattack following a collision outside Houston’s box, delivering the decisive goal.
