There are few people that have the impact that the undisputed boxing champion Lennox Lewis have. A humble, yet influential man, he can captivate a room within seconds. With a smile and gentle ease, Lewis makes his way around a room of fans, making a point to talk to each and every person. But Lewis is also a man with a mission: one dedicated to improve the lives of disadvantaged families and children and inspire them to become educated, socially responsible and financially self-sufficient. He strives to do so with his Lennox Lewis League of Champions Foundation. And on a very special evening, close friends and long supporters of the foundation, Haute Living and Hublot, came together to join in the cause, hosting a posh dinner party at the famous Bâoli restaurant and lounge in Miami Beach during the World Boxing Council (WBC) week-long event .
With sips of Dom Pérignon and Moët, guests mingled with one another throughout the back garden to the beats of DJ Ruckus, who also joined the group to be a part of the evening. Lewis was joined by friends and boldface names including Latin singer Jencarlos Canela, businessman and philanthropist Salvador Briman, fellow boxing champs Roberto Durán and Marvelous Marvin Hagler, real estate titan Richard Charlton, business mogul Gonzalo Morales, Haute Living CEO Kamal Hotchandani, Managing Director of Hublot North America Jean-Francois Sberro and President of Hublot Latin America Rick De La Croix.
After guests were seated and as a delectable dinner of some of Bâoli’s finest dishes finished in preparation for dessert, Hotchandani took the stage calling up Lewis’ wife, Violet Chang, who plays a huge role in the Foundation, to talk a bit about their mission and what they do. Chang reported on some brief news within the organization, and proceeded to call her husband up to the stage. Following him, Jean-Francois Sberro and Rick De La Croix took the stage and presented a check on behalf of Hublot for $25,000 to directly benefit the Lennox Lewis League of Champions Foundation.
With a final word from Hotchandani, the celebration commenced as Bâoli’s ever-famous flaming bottles were brought into the party with a large dessert platter and Ruckus blasted beats, bringing guests to their feet dancing the rest of the night away. It was an evening of philanthropy, good friends and fun, and surely one to be remembered by the champ.
