J Cole Kicks Off Heineken Red Star Tour

The Bowery Ballroom has hosted many legendary concerts in recent years, and last night was no different. Heineken’s series, #RedStarAccess, put on a packed show for hometown emcee J Cole. The Roc Nation artist is currently hard at work on his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, which is set to be released September 27. With fellow Roc Nation DJ D-Nice on the boards, the night was a memorable one before it even started. Legendary producer Pete Rock, fresh off his placement on Watch the Throne, even performed a set for the crowd before and after J Cole’s performance.

The crowd was primed for an epic performance. Cole World doubled as his album name and a frequent chant as J Cole performed all of his classic songs off off each one of his mixtapes. The congregation was dialed in for sure as everyone seemed to know each lyric bar for bar. J Cole was humble as ever as he was cheered and heralded from start to finish. He even made sure to pull a St John’s Red Storm hat out of the crowd and rock the colors of his Alma Mater leading to huge satisfaction to the many alumni in the building. Omen, a great friend of Cole, even graced the stage to perform his verse on “Enchanted”. Cole just may be on the verge of greatness with his upcoming release; last night was just a stop on the road to greatness.
