Two decades after Hurricane Katrina, acclaimed DJ and producer Jae Murphy has released “Stop Cryin” — a vibrant, heartfelt homage to New Orleans and its enduring bounce culture. Teaming up with Create Music Group, Murphy brings together bounce star Vickeelo and genre legend Hasizzle for a track that celebrates resilience, joy, and the city’s unmatched musical energy.
Recorded in the same legendary studio where Lil Wayne created Tha Carter I, “Stop Cryin” captures the soul of NOLA with kinetic drums, infectious call-and-response hooks, and authentic hometown flavor. Every element — from production to visuals — was powered by New Orleans talent, making the single a true love letter to the city and its people.
Vickeelo’s magnetic presence builds on her mainstream momentum following her feature on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Ride or Die”, while Hasizzle delivers the raw energy and cultural authenticity that have made him a bounce icon. The track even weaves in a nostalgic nod to TLC’s classic “Creep,” adding another layer of familiarity for fans.
“This record is New Orleans,” Murphy says. “From the sound, to the visuals, to the people behind it — we wanted to shine a light on the culture that made us.”
The release was celebrated in style at a star-studded party at LAVO Los Angeles, powered by Crown Royal. The night drew celebrities, tastemakers, and athletes including Ty Dolla $ign, Leon Thomas, Eric Bellinger, King Combs, Guapdad 4000, Jozzy, Nitrane, AD, Grammy-winning producer Derrick Milano, and NBA stars Kenyon Martin Jr. and Terrence Mann — all coming together to show love for Murphy’s latest anthem.
