Jaron Pierre Jr. delivered a season-high 35 points and took over in overtime as SMU pulled off a 93–80 victory over Texas A&M. Pierre forced OT with a clutch jumper in the final seconds, then opened the extra period with five straight points to give the Mustangs the lead for good.
Boopie Miller added 19 points on a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line, while Corey Washington and Samet Yigitoglu combined for 26 points and strong work on the boards. B.J. Edwards nearly posted a triple-double with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 11 assists.
