Larry Morrow Debuts Spicy Mango: A Bold New Flavor Experience in the Heart of New Orleans

Today, Larry Morrow officially opened the doors to his newest culinary venture, Spicy Mango, just in time to capture the buzz and foot traffic of Essence Festival weekend. Located at the corner of Frenchmen Street and Esplanade Avenue, the vibrant restaurant blends the soul of New Orleans cuisine with the rich, bold flavors of the Caribbean.

Spicy Mango marks another milestone in what Morrow has called his “growth mode” era, expanding his already thriving restaurant empire under Morrow Hospitality. His mission? To build the largest Black-owned hospitality group in the country. With popular hotspots like Morrow’s, Monday (a viral favorite of Keith Lee), Sun Chong, Hide/Seek, Treehouse, and Morrow Steak already under his belt, Spicy Mango continues his impressive streak.

The grand opening unveiled a warm, tropical ambiance featuring a faux tree canopying over the main dining space, rattan chairs, macramé accents, and an elegant curved bar illuminated by soft pendant lighting. The menu is just as memorable, with highlights including crawfish beignets, shrimp ceviche, charred eloté, slow-braised oxtails, and spicy jerk chicken. For those seeking something extravagant, there’s even a $160 tomahawk steak.
