Country music duo LoCash, Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, drop their third studio album titled Brothers on March 29, 2019. With their hit single off the album, Feels Like a Party, the group sets the bar high for the rest of the album. This feel-good track pulls listeners in with an upbeat rhythmic sound and catchy lyrics. It’s the ideal kickback summer anthem, as it makes you want to drop what you’re doing and head to the closest party. The lyrics, “it feels like a damn good time to me. A bunch of country girls and back road boys. All here to drink and sing” pulls at the party side of people and makes you jump into the song.
This LoCash project is the first at their fresh new label, Wheelhouse Records/BBR Music Group. The duo parted ways with Reviver after their album, The Fighter. Aside from upbeat, feel-good songs, this album also features a nostalgic song, Brothers, detailing the relationship between friends that can become family in Brothers. It is relatable and really pulls at the heart. It’s a nice contrast and balance from the song Feels Like a Party. And along with these songs, It’s Only Midnight, paints a picture of a young couple, “a little after party, my hands on your body. And yours all over mine, we’ve got nothing but time. It’s only midnight”. These lyrics are relatable and make you want to drop everything to call your latest lover. The group also gets passionate with their song, Kissing a Girl. It takes you on an emotional ride as it details a romantic and sincere relationship between two teenagers and their early stages of dating. Its followed by another catchy kickback song that makes you want to throw back a couple of beers. Beers to Catch up On, covers the amity between friends catching up after being apart, “we got miles of back roads that need a little tearing up. We got some good times, we need a re-wind. Back to the way it was”. This is more than just an album, it’s a detailed story about growing up and experiencing the hardship of life while having a good time with your friends.
