Jake McGlynn scored a dramatic stoppage-time penalty kick against his former club to earn the Houston Dynamo a 1-1 draw with the Philadelphia Union at Shell Energy Stadium. After falling behind early to a 15th-minute goal from Alejandro Bedoya, Houston found momentum just before halftime, thanks to a foul that gave McGlynn the chance to equalize — which he seized, celebrating by kissing the Dynamo crest in front of his former teammates. Despite pushing hard in the second half, including a crossbar strike and a late near-miss by Artur, Houston couldn’t find the winner. Still, the draw showed renewed energy for the Dynamo heading into a packed homestand and the upcoming All-Star break.
