The Michael Jackson biographical film _Michael_ has become the highest-grossing
biopic in box office history, earning $977 million worldwide and surpassing the
previous record held by _Oppenheimer_.

The achievement marks a significant milestone for the music biopic genre, which
has seen growing commercial interest in recent years. _Michael_ now stands as the
benchmark for biographical films at the global box office, outpacing Christopher
Nolan’s 2023 blockbuster _Oppenheimer_, which had set a formidable standard for
the category.

The film’s $977 million haul places it among the most commercially successful productions
in recent memory, regardless of genre.
