Who says you can’t mingle with the Crème de la Crème of Miami, sip on as much of the worlds finest champagne all while listening to the sounds of 2 chainz swinging melodically in the air? Well that’s exactly what happened this past Thursday, November 7th, when the biggest names in Miami Hip-Hop nightlife teamed up with 2 chainz and Moët to debut Moët’s $5K Nectar Impérial Rosé Leopard Luxury Edition Methuselah Bottle at the Delano on South Beach.

Now I’ve been to many events in Miami, but this one definitely surprised me in a very good way. Varsity is well known for sponsoring the most exclusive Hip-Hop parties on South Beach, but this event was something I have never seen in Miami before, and was most definitely the place to be this week. The Rose lounge at the Delano reached capacity just over an hour after the event was in full swing. Guests were greeted upon entering with gold chalices filled with Möet Nectar imperial Rosé and escorted down a candle lit path to a magical set up, where guests could choose from private kiosks equipped with unlimited bottles of Moët champagne or make their way to the bar, also serving unlimited champagne and endless Hors d’oeuvres. This invite-only, black-tie event included a private concert by Grammy- Nominated Hip Hop sensation 2 chainz, who also appropriately arrived in Suit and Tie and mingled with guests before his performance.

The groundbreaking significance of this event will soon be seen as more events like this are in the works for Varsity and the Hip Hop community in Miami. The event definitely served as a melting pot for Miami society, fused with the Hip Hop community at the forefront. Events like this are removing the stigma that Hip Hop has to be kept in an island of its own, and cannot be at the forefront of upscale events, especially in Miami. For those who were not able to get inside due to the large outcome, Varsity promises more events like these, which could have a surprising effect for Miami Nightlife and the Hip Hop community as a whole.
