NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nashville SC scored twice in stoppage time Saturday night to
complete a 3-2 comeback victory over the Columbus Crew at GEODIS Park.

Nashville opened the scoring in the 27th minute when Hany Mukhtar controlled a ball
from Dan Lovitz and finished a half-volley into the upper corner to give the Boys
in Gold a 1-0 lead.

The advantage held through halftime as Nashville limited Columbus despite stretches
of possession from the Crew.

Columbus equalized in the second half when Mohamed Farsi scored from the right side
of the penalty area off a pass from Malte Amundsen.
 Ten minutes later, Andre Gomes
scored on a free kick to put the Crew ahead 2-1.

Nashville entered stoppage time facing the possibility of its first home loss of
the season before the match turned in the closing minutes.
 In the third minute
of stoppage time, Mukhtar delivered a corner into the box and Reed Baker-Whiting
headed it home to tie the match at 2-2. Nashville then pushed for the winner. Moments
later, Andy Najar found space and finished into the bottom corner to complete the
comeback.

The victory kept Nashville unbeaten at home and continued a historic start to the
season. Through 21 matches, the club has collected 49 points, the best total through
that stage of a season in MLS history, and holds a nine-point lead in the Supporters’
Shield race.
Patrick Yazbek also made his first start since May after missing nearly
four months.

Yazbek rejoined a Nashville midfield that has relied heavily on his ability to cover
ground, carry the ball forward and connect the attack and defense. He worked alongside
Eddi Tagseth and Matthew Corcoran as Nashville regained another piece of its earlier
midfield rotation.
Nashville returns to GEODIS Park on Aug. 29 for a rivalry matchup
against FC Cincinnati.
