Nashville SC delivered a historic 1-0 victory over Club América on the road, advancing
to the Concacaf Champions Cup semifinals for the first time in club history. Facing
one of the continent’s toughest teams in the intimidating Estadio Banorte, Nashville
produced one of the biggest wins the club has ever achieved.

The breakthrough came in the 51st minute when Hany Mukhtar found space in the box,
controlled a pass from Cristian Espinoza, and fired a powerful shot into the roof
of the net. The goal proved decisive, forcing Club América to chase the match without
success.

While América dominated possession and created more chances, Nashville relied on
a resilient defensive performance led by goalkeeper Brian Schwake. The 24-year-old
made eight crucial saves, including a standout stop early in the match, and remained
composed under constant pressure.

Despite missing key striker Sam Surridge, Nashville showed discipline and determination
throughout. Schwake’s performance, combined with Mukhtar’s clutch goal, secured
a landmark result — not only sending Nashville through but also marking a rare and
historic win for an MLS side at one of the most iconic stadiums in world soccer.
