FCA provides an opportunity for 50 teens in foster care and group homes to participate in a 6-day entrepreneurship-training program. Teens learn business basics from successful entrepreneurs, importance of social media and marketing; financial literacy, participate in a Microsoft S.T.E.M program and practice delivering a business pitch presentation. FCA Students participate in an elevator pitch contest and one youth is a awarded a college scholarship fund of up to $10,000 to continue their education. Students also receive college counseling, develop business concepts, taught to dress for success, and experience hands on experience of running their business. FCA was designed to help foster teens learn about higher education options and career paths as they plan for their transition out of care. We are dedicated to fostering a stimulating environment where today’s youth can digest information with hands-on experience rather than “traditional” classroom techniques.
