Ohio State men’s basketball delivered a dominant performance Tuesday afternoon, cruising to an 89–63 victory over Grambling State at the Schottenstein Center as the Buckeyes head into Big Ten play.
Sophomore John Mobley Jr. led the way with 20 points, knocking down five three-pointers and scoring 15 in the second half to help Ohio State pull away. The Buckeyes showcased their depth once again, with all five starters scoring in double figures for the second straight game.
Bruce Thornton added 18 points, while Devin Royal chipped in 16 on efficient shooting. Freshman Amare Bynum posted a strong all-around effort with 12 points and a game-high nine rebounds, and Christoph Tilly rounded out the starters with 10 points as Ohio State controlled the paint.
The Buckeyes shot an impressive 62% from the field, dominated inside with a 42–20 edge in paint points, and converted turnovers into easy offense. After taking a 15-point lead into halftime, Ohio State opened the second half with a decisive run that pushed the margin out of reach.
With the win, Ohio State improved to 9–3 on the season and enters conference play with momentum and confidence.
