The No. 11/12 Ohio State women’s basketball team turned in a dominant second-half performance Thursday night, pulling away from Wisconsin for an 81–58 victory at the Schottenstein Center.
After a slow start, the Buckeyes locked in defensively and took control after halftime, outscoring the Badgers by 23 points over the final two quarters to improve to 19–3 overall and 8–2 in Big Ten play.
Wisconsin opened the game hot from beyond the arc, building a 23–17 lead after the first quarter. Ohio State responded in the second, holding the Badgers to just five points in the period and taking a slim 29–28 lead into halftime.
The third quarter featured multiple lead changes until Jaloni Cambridge sparked an 8–0 run that gave the Buckeyes breathing room. Ohio State closed the quarter ahead 56–45 and carried that momentum into the fourth.
Cambridge scored the first seven points of the final quarter as Ohio State surged ahead, outscoring Wisconsin 25–13 over the final 10 minutes to seal the win.
Cambridge led all scorers with 29 points, while Elsa Lemmilä recorded her second double-double of the month with 14 points and a career-high-tying 14 rebounds. Chance Gray added 10 points as all 10 Buckeyes found the scoring column.
