Ian Pilcher scored a clutch second-half goal to help San Diego FC earn a 1-1 draw against second-place Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Snapdragon Stadium, keeping SDFC atop the Western Conference. After an own goal put Vancouver ahead just before halftime, Pilcher leveled the match in the 79th minute with a powerful left-footed strike. A key late save from goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega sealed the result in a tightly contested battle between conference leaders. SDFC continues its homestand on July 25 against Nashville SC.
