Rodman Strikes, Spirit Stay Perfect in April

Business as usual for Washington Spirit — and the streak keeps growing.

Washington locked in its third straight win and a club-record fourth consecutive clean sheet, grinding out a 1-0 result over Racing Louisville FC on a rainy night at Audi Field. The Spirit are now unbeaten in six, stacking 12 points in the process.

The breakthrough came early.

In the 15th minute, Sofia Cantore burst down the right and delivered a perfect ball into the box, where Trinity Rodman finished cleanly for her second goal in as many matches — and all the scoring Washington would need.

From there, it was about control and composure.

Washington threatened to add more before halftime, but couldn’t find the second goal. After the break, Louisville pushed for a response — and nearly got it. A penalty was awarded midway through the second half, only to be overturned after VAR, preserving the Spirit’s lead.

Late subs brought fresh legs, but the story stayed the same: disciplined defending, organized shape, and another clean sheet sealed by a complete team performance.

Final whistle: one goal, zero conceded — again.
